Part of the $170 million transformation of the iconic Harry Seidler 25 Martin Place, Building Guild delivered Cabana Bar to bring a slice of the beach to the city. Our client Tilley & Wills wanted to ‘do something a little bit tropical’ in a city otherwise awash with concrete.
Working in partnership with Luchetti Krelle, Building Guild sculpted an environment that provides a relaxing retreat from the city. Details were essential to this project, as they all mixed together to create a visual blend perfect for drifting free of the city stress while sipping a summer cocktail.
The Cabana Bar has five distinct but interwoven sections, connected by the large open air terrace space. In order to maintain a free-flowing visual experience, Building Guild installed bespoke joinery and seamless transitions.
As part of this project’s larger integration with the overall revitalisation of the former MLC Centre, Building Guild conducted all the Category 1 works for the tenancy. This also included vertical installations that ran from the top floor down to the underground storage and keg rooms, as well as drilling over 40 holes for drainage purposes.
