From Here On
“It’s nothing like the huge modern developments surrounding us. It has charm, it has character.”
- Hugh Evans FromHereOn’s CEO
A revived office fit-out has enabled this architecture consultancy to create a spectacular modern office space inside a heritage site.
Consultants FromHereOn wanted to create a new work environment which reflected their firm’s philosophy, commissioning Building Guild to realise the vision imagined by the team at Siren Design.
The new work space sees the dynamic and enterprising design and architecture consultancy utilising a stunning heritage building as the site of their spectacular modern office.
Building Guild was involved in the project from its inception, working closely with Siren, providing advice and recommendations to their designers with regards to the construction elements of the project. The ten-week building program encompassed a range of high-spec components, including bespoke joinery, a striking bar and an impressive interior staircase, all completed within a striking heritage structure.
Located in central Sydney, overlooking the urban hub of Barangaroo, FromHereOn ‘s office sits within the top two floors of the original Australian Gas Light property, a 170-year-old heritage-listed building, cut five storeys high into a sheer sandstone cliff.
Originally constructed in 1847 and located next to the historic Bond building, FromHereOn’s CEO, Hugh Evans, said “the sandstone walls and homestead-like feel presented us with the soulful canvas upon which we could create our new working space”.
FromHereOn ‘s workplace design has since received a gold award in the 2018 Sydney Design Awards, for the interior design within the co-working studio space category.
