Mirvac
Complete Building Upgrade & Remediation
The Building Guild remediation team was engaged by Mirvac to restore the complete façade of this heritage-significant commercial building within the main thoroughfare of Broadway.
The scope of the project included:
— Replacement of original external windows
— Reconstructing sections of brickwork
— Façade brickwork repairs
— Repointing brickwork
— New roof structures
Meticulously engineered and staged works involved the complete replacement of original façade windows with modern aluminium sympathetic equivalents. Significant sections of façade brickwork were removed and reinstated.
Due to the heritage significance of this asset, all works were carefully inspected by accredited personnel from local councils. In order to undertake this work, we installed nine storeys of scaffold and Class B hoardings in close proximity shopping centre.
All works were undertaken, with great success, in a fully tenanted building. Our major consideration for this project was for the safety, amenity and wellbeing of the tenants. Intricate hoardings were installed internally to shield tenants from structural façade alteration. Our full-time site management established effective lines of communication and completed the entire six-month project without incident.
