Through competitive tender Building Guild was awarded the head contract for Queen Victoria Building’s refurbishment and conservation of key facilities across both Levels 1 and 2.
The staged refurbishment and conservation project delivered over 24 months, modified and upgraded the existing sanitary facilities of the public amenities that operate the retail and hospitality areas.
The project entailed upgrading the QVB building operation more sustainable in its energy saving systems and smart water usage, whilst incorporating hygienic systems (hands free fittings). Highly significant original elements within the amenity areas were conserved and interpreted including two original heritage urinals which were restored and adapted to ensure their continued use.
This magnificent piece of heritage meets modern functionality. We are pleased to breathe new life into the city’s monumental and grand Federation arcade in Australia.
