Building Guild was approached by Solotel to complete a pub refurbishment for the Edinburgh Castle Hotel, aka ‘The Eddy’ in partnership with designers, Luchetti Krelle.
The Edinburgh Castle has been a Sydney landmark since 1885. Our role was to add a contemporary flavour to this beloved hotel.
The project consisted of a detailed heritage-compliant design, which was critical to the overall success of the project. After a meticulous examination of the hotel, our project team used the structured shop drawing sample sign off process to ensure quality in the built detail. This approach enabled our experienced team to retain the rich character of the hotel.
Luchetti Krelle which paid homage to the poets of the past, who frequented the hotel by adorning the walls with illustrations of the poets. The newly redesigned and refreshed version of ‘The Eddy’ represents its long-standing history with a refreshed look and feel. We were proud to work alongside Solotel and Luchetti Krelle on such a meaningful project.
